Exorcist Collection, signed material by authour William Peter Blatty.
A collection of material relating to the horror film that was epic in starting a new genre in horror. I personally presented this material to William Peter Blatty for his signatures. Each signed item will include a Certificate of Assurance signed by myself for insurance and purposes of integrity.
Included are: An uncorrected galley proof, with notations - Signed by William Peter Blatty A corrected galley proof, with notations- Signed by William Peter Blatty A promotional page that was separate but is the length of the galley pages, - Signed by William Peter Blatty An advance reading copy of The Exorcist, with rubber stampings of the publishing house as shown, - Signed by William Peter Blatty A first edition book of The Exorcist in dust jacket, - Signed by William Peter Blatty A double lettered copy limited edition of the book which celebrated the 25th anniversary of the film, - Signed by William Peter Blatty (and others as issued) A numbered copy of the book celebrating the 25th anniversary of the book, - Signed by William Peter Blatty (and others as issued) An unopened Exorcist movie CD still in shrink-wrap. Sir John Anthony Miller personally presented the galleys, promo sheet, advance reading copy and first edition book (it has some spine slant to the book as shown) to William Peter Blatty many years ago for the signatures. The first edition dust jacket on the book is very good, not price clipped. The number sequence as the rear of the book starts with "1" assuring you it is a first edition (see the photo with the arrow).. The signatures are at the top portions on the galleys. The text differs in both of these galleys, with hand notations throughout both of them. I cannot show them all-there are too many, but have photographed representative portions of both. They both seem to be complete and were purchased that way many years ago, back in the late 1970's or early 1980's. They are long and folded on themselves as shown. I have a ruler in the photos to give indication of the size.
Both the copies of the limited anniversary editions of the books are as new-never opened but for these photos, and signed by William Peter Blatty as issued. One is in a folding clamshell case, the other in a slip case. They are brand new in like dust jackets. The advance reading copy has the publisher's rubber stamping on the page edges and inside, and is also signed by William Peter Blatty. It has been used, as shown with some spine creasing, etc. as were the galleys. These are important items for an important film in our country's cinematic history. The galley proofs are probably totally one of a kind. The corrected galleys are on the left. Note the notations through out both the galleys and the mis-prints. On some photos the first edition book is laid down beside a portion of the galley proof to show the difference. No matter what one thinks, these documents are important which resulted in the culmination of the epic film, like no other ever produced until that time. Only "Rosemary's Baby" book, and hence later the film, was the pre-cursor to "The Exorcist" book and film - whose influence is still being felt even in 2014. I will provide Letters of assurance for all the signatures on the documented material, since I personally presented all this to Mr. Blatty years ago, personally.
